I intended to send someone a box of cigarette somewhere abroad. I hate cigarettes and I wish he would quit smoking someday. But since I think he needs them at the moment and as a little celebration to him for graduated his master school faster, I wanted to send him one box of cigarettes. Yes, I was going to give him a surprise. So, I dag some information about what kind of cigarettes he likes and I think he knew my intention. The suppose-to-be surprise is no longer a surprise anymore, since I’m not good in making surprise.
There I sent the package.
After weeks of waiting, I started to worry. I heard no news about the package. But then the day I had been waiting for, came. I expected a little buzz on my messenger window, maybe a hug icon or maybe someone calling my name and will say thanks for the package and the drawing inside that Titan made for him.
But all I heard was a boomerang surprise for me, letting me know that the package was over quota and not only that, it was also added with a little notes of smuggling charge that make the address will be watched for any package in the future. Not to mention another 90 dollars tax for the gift and maybe some more for the smuggling charge.
At the moment I heard the news, I felt so stupid. And yes, also sad.
Taking the story to another level, and apply to my life now, … I am 32 and I fully understand that a good deed needs to be followed with the right way in showing it. Without the right way, a good will behind it will just fade away.
I am sorry for getting you into trouble.
