It is hard to talk to someone who has become numb. You won't even know what you can say. Every angle might be wrong, every word might be a mistake, every moment might be wrong, and no matter how close you are to that person; chances are you are not the right person at the very moment.
That is what happened to me today. My first time being speechless about what is happening to a dear friend of mine who is feeling numb. I wish I could say "Be patient" or "Be brave" or "Hang in there" ... but I feel everything is just not right.
And I can only say,
"you are not alone. Please do tell me if there is anything I can do."
Of course, my friend answered me in a cold, flat tone of voice.
"Awrite, thank you."
Life is too grim to face it alone, my friend. So yes ... have a little faith. At least to yourself.
